08-26-2011: Join this group to help fight childhood obesity!

Arizona Action for Healthy Kids needs your help!

This organization will be partnering with the Arizona Dairy Council and their NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60) initiative and will need a group of volunteers to help local schools complete/submit FUTP60 grants. The FUTP60 (www.fueluptoplay60.com ) project will probably be the first project for the Arizona Action for Healthy Kids Student Volunteer Group, but many other opportunities will follow throughout the entire academic year (up until June 2012).

AIDS Walk Phoenix and 5K Run: Donate and/or register with Team AGAPE!	The SNC needs to meet a goal of $500.00 for AGAPE Network. Help raise money with us and register to walk with AGAPE Network for the AIDS Walk Phoenix and 5K Run. Donations are also accepted.
Downtown Phoenix Public Market	Volunteer for Farmer's Market and make a difference in your community!
FNCE Information	The big event of September is a paid trip to San Diego, CA for the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo; http://www.eatright.org/fnce/. In order to be eligible for the contest to decide the students who will be attending FNCE this year you must be a member of the SNC and a student member of the American Dietetics Association. We will have an SNC registration table at the Food Olympics and we will have an information table with more details on the FNCE trip. FNCE registration, hotel and transportation to and from San Diego will be paid. Food and any other expenses such as baggage fees etc. will be the responsibility of each member attending the conference.
