Maren Henley has been coaching the Arizona State Women's Lacrosse team since 2000. She was instrumental in building the team from a handful of players competing in Division 2 of the WWLL to a competitive Division 1 team of the WWLL. Prior to coaching she played at the University of Arizona from 1995 to 1999. As a defender she started three of her four years and, in her final year as a senior, she was a team captain, awarded MVP of the team, and a WWLL All-star. After graduating and moving back to the Tempe area, she volunteered to coach lacrosse at ASU. The 2000 season was the first season ASU was officially able to complete, and they did so often competing a man down. The team grew over the next two years and won the WWLL Division 2 Championships in 2002. After this achievement the team was elevated to the WWLL Division 1.

During the 2004-2005 season, Coach Henley attended UC Berkeley and received her M.S. in Environmental Engineering. While getting her degree she was a volunteer graduate assistant for the UC Berkeley's Women's Lacrosse team. Here she gained valuable coaching experience she was able to bring back. After finishing her degree, she returned to Tempe and continued coaching for ASU. Over her 8 seasons with ASU they have made 4 appearances in the WWLL Championships, and have been ranked nationally.

In her last year at Arizona State, Jen Nevatt is excited to continue her involvement with the team as assistant coach this season. After four years of playing for Henley, let’s hope she learned something.

Nevatt began playing lacrosse as a sophomore in high school in Richboro, Pennsylvania where she also played basketball and tennis. It wasn’t until joining the team at ASU in 2006 that she developed appreciation and dedication for lacrosse. During her junior and senior years the devils achieved winning records, top 25 national rankings, and trips to the WWLL Championships. Nevatt was a two-time president, co-captain, WWLL Division One First Team All-League recipient, and Offensive MVP. After four memorable seasons, the only option she saw was to transition to the sidelines and contribute to the team in another way. She will graduate in May with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology.

“With a USL preseason ranking of 19 and a motivated group of leaders returning to the field, I’m confident this will be the most successful season since the team went to Nationals in 2005!”
